ST. CHARLES • The Ambassadors of Harmony,
St. Louis' premier men's chorus, will perform this Saturday at the sixth annual
St. Louis Harmony Festival in St. Charles.
The event will showcase more than 20 men's and women's a cappella
choruses and barbershop quartets from across the St. Louis region!
The festival runs from 1 to 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church
of St. Charles, 2701 Muegge Road in St. Charles.
In addition to the international champion Ambassadors of Harmony,
featured groups include the City Voices, the Spirit of St. Louis Chorus, the
St. Louis Harmony Chorus, the Heart of Missouri Chorus, the Fenton Ward Barbershop
Ensemble and many others. Quartets include Progression, Nostalgia, the Rivertown
Sound and Voice 4 Voice.
Admission to see all these great singing groups is just $5. Tickets
are available at the door.
ABOUT US: The Ambassadors of Harmony is an all-male
a cappella chorus of more than 160 voices known for powerful and musically masterful
performances. Its repertoire includes Broadway classics, barbershop, jazz, pop,
and wide selection of holiday favorites
The non-profit, all-volunteer chorus was originally founded in
1963 and has been directed by Dr. Jim Henry -- head of choral studies at the
University of Missouri-St. Louis -- for about two decades. Master arranger David
Wright serves as associate director and provides the chorus' musical vision.
Under their direction, the chorus has won two gold medals in the Barbershop
Harmony Society's international contest, most recently in 2009 in Anaheim, Calif.
The Ambassadors have sung for audiences across
the United States and have also performed in England and Germany, Ireland, the
Netherlands and Sweden.
